I had work at the zoo, and I was on projects, which means I was doing various chores and stuff around the zoo. We took out a lot of poisonous invasive plants, cleaned some roofs, and I wandered the zoo for an hour talking to guests, which I honestly love.
When I finished my guest stuff, I went in to my boss/teacher to tell her I’d been told our zoo was excellent, amazing, and impressive. She was stoked and then told me how happy she was that I was actually talking in class and participating, because she knows how quiet and shy I am. She gave me a lot of help with the damn training project I’m doing too, and was just all around positive, so I figured she might be a good person to talk to about my anxiety with school and stuff.
At the end of the day I went to her and we talked about it all, from upcoming T to pronouns and how to get people to use them and how hard this stage is in general. She was so supportive and helpful and understanding, I really felt a heavy weight come off. She knew terms, she joked around, she opened up in return. I love most of my teachers a lot, and they’ve been great, but none of them have ever opened up like that to me before. I left the school beaming and feeling so much better about being here. I can do this. I am going to make myself and all those supporting me, including her, so proud to see me graduate.

I’ve literally been waiting for this for over six years. And it looks really promising. I can’t wait!
